I saw this as an incredibly forward thinking, brave and liberal statement that brought genuine feelings of happiness to my day. It surprised me then to find out…

Pointless police harassment! -
Police in the square have been arresting people one by one for not giving their name and address, taking them to the police station to get their details and then dropping them back at the camp.
A young camper was taken away in a police van. He wasn’t arrested and wasn’t given chance to refuse to give his details. Police have refused to tell campers where he’s being taken and why. A police officer commented that ‘it was too noisy’ to tell him where/why he’s being taken.
The camp are staying put and will still be there tomorrow!!

An immigration judge in Newark on Friday suspended the deportation of a Venezuelan man who is married to an American man, responding to an unusual signal this week from the Obama administration that it is exploring legal avenues for recognizing same-sex marriages in immigration cases.
